Social media strategy, training for associations, non-profits
Check out Lee Aase’s really great response to my post about tearing my hair out.
It’s so true that too many choices can lead to people not making a choice at all. I hope any of you who are just thinking about testing the social media waters are not intimidated by too many choices. This is why Lindy and I ALWAYS say to start by listening, to fish where the fish are – that will HELP you figure out where to start. Once you know that people are talking about you or your industry or your issues in a particular social space, pick that place to dip your toes and develop a presence.
When there are too many choices, you need to just pick one, but you still need to do that with intent.
Oh and if anyone cares what I use to shorten urls – I actually don’t think about it, my Twitter app (Twhirl) shortens things for me automatically – and it uses various services on a random basis, as far as I can tell, to do it – but should I consciously need to shorten a link I currently use Twurl. Why? Just look at it. It does what it says on the can.

Can you even imagine the grief I had in seeing one of my fav bloggers aggravated by another of my fav bloggers
… delighted to see this exchange. But more so – in some ways – because I’m seeing how community builds in “disagreement”.
And I use the basic TinyUrl because it was the first I found and I’m not one to mess with success.
PS – just had to post the same on Lee’s blog
