Social media strategy, training for associations, non-profits
Got budget to burn and don’t want to do the work of setting up a real homebase where you can respond to conversations about you on the social web?
You can pay Seth Godin’s company $400 bucks a month to set up a Brand in Public page for you. Some charities can get those for free already and I would not be surprised if he comes up with a nonprofit rate soon.
Check it out here. It’s basically a listening dashboard, but apparently it’s not about monitoring, it’s about organizing and “coordinating” the conversation (not sure I get the difference, but whatever). More info here.
Fast Company thinks this is evil. My ten-second take? Not an entirely bad idea if you have the cash – but take note, you’ll still have to respond and take part and build those relationships. You gotta be in it to win it.
