SocialFish Moderation Policy
The SocialFishing blog exists so SocialFish employees, contractors, guest bloggers, and others in our community (collectively known as “SocialFishes”) can take part in the conversation about social media, nonprofits, and associations. This is our safe space, and everyone who blogs AND/OR comments here is subject to these guidelines–also known as rules, terms, conditions, laws, edicts, immutable decrees…teehee. But seriously:
- We speak our own minds. The opinions expressed on this blog are the opinions of the individual authors. Even the SocialFishiest authors, Maddie and Lindy, take full responsibility for their own postings.
- We welcome new commenters. SocialFish holds the first few comments by each individual for moderation. Once you’ve had some comments approved, you can post automatically.
- When we moderate, we try to be quick. Because SocialFish moderates some comments, it may take a little while for your comment to appear. If in doubt, email us.
- We have a spam filter, and we know how to use it. SocialFish uses a spam filter and any comment deemed to be spam will be deleted.
- No fair hiding your identity. SocialFish does not allow anonymous comments.
- Be good, play nice. Any comment with content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, infringing on intellectual property rights, threatening or otherwise objectionable will be deleted. SocialFish reserves the right to delete comments for any reason.
- We don’t play favorites. Reference to any commercial product, process, or service does not constitute or imply endorsement, recommendation, or favoring by SocialFish. Links aren’t endorsements, either.
- Link love hurts sometimes. The blog contains live links to other web sites which are managed by organizations independent of SocialFish. SocialFish assumes no responsibility for the content of those sites or consequences resulting from clicking on those links.
- Share and share alike. The content posted on Socialfish.org is licensed under a Creative Commons Attributions Non-Commercial license, which means all the content on this site can be shared and remixed for non-commercial purposes as long as it is attributed. If you have a problem with that, don’t post here.

Very good and comprehensive. I actually just started not allowing anonymous comments on my main blog (stormingthecrease.com) and think it’s a great policy to have. Keep the policy series coming — excellent reading indeed.
