So #unTech10‘s live conference day went off without a hitch yesterday, I think…
and I wanted to say once again an extra special thank you to everyone who sponsored yesterday to make this happen.
We’ll write a lot more posts, I am sure, to distill and debrief how this all came together but I will tell you that for Lindy and me, (who were in charge of the content and schedule and promo), to be able to just know and trust the people in your team to just “do their thing” and run with it was really really amazing. It was incredible to just have that confidence that the hotel logistics, sponsor management and video hardware (Aaron and the team at thePort), the livestream (Dave and Ryan and their crew at Peach New Media), the conference website (Tony, Chris and Ryan at Omnipress), the happy hour reception and travel reimbursement for association peeps (Sterling, Elizabeth and April at NFi Studios), and the webinar backup, food, signage and all kinds of random stuff (Ray at Avectra) were all going to be taken care of behind the scenes… And I know that all these guys (and everyone else helping out) busted a gut for us, so that we could concentrate on how to make this a meaningful learning experience that could be equally valuable to the 75 people in the room and the 425 people on the livecast yesterday. Please do me a favor and check out their websites, these people all rock our world.
What did you think of the proceedings yesterday? Please give us any and all feedback in the comments! We’re always learning!
Which brings me to my real point for today which is that DAY TWO OF #UNTECH10 IS ON!! Bring it!!
We have a full day of webinars going on today. I was going to give you a quick sample, but you know what? Everything on the schedule is awesome. Check it out! Please click on each individual webinar to register, they each have their own info.
As a final reminder, we will continue to aggregate any and all handouts/slides/further info/photos/incriminating video from YAP/etc at the unTech10 Community website (so if you have any of the above, upload ‘em!!). We’ll also post information about the recorded livestream from yesterday as soon as we have it and anything else we can think of there. Obviously you can connect with other people and continue the conversation on the site going forward so we hope this community will live on.
Thank you, thank you thank you to everyone who helped, everyone who OFFERED to help, everyone who presented or spoke yesterday and will today, everyone who has watched and tweeted and supported this amazing collaborative effort.
I’m going to go crash for three days now. Someone please buy me a t-shirt before they all run out?

Thanks Maddie and an echo of thanks to all the people who helped make this happen yesterday. It is definitely a testament to the community.
I looked back at my e-mail and phone calls from Tuesday and the first call I made to the Renaissance to see if they would have space for Thursday was at 11:03 A.M.- about 3 hours before we got official notice Tech was going to be cancelled. The untech10 conference “officially” started at 9:00 yesterday morning. That means that we pulled off everything from the space (I have a whole new respect for meeting planners everywhere), the live broadcast and the most amazing people and content you could have dreamed up…. in LESS THAN TWO DAYS. Now throw in the 500 attendees, 75 of which were crazy enough to brave the elements, a flawless delivery and you have in my opinion the best conference I have ever attended in person or virtually.
I have one of our graphic artists working up a timeline of events which I will share later. Thanks again to everyone who helped out. You guys are all amazing!

This has been an amazing experience for those outside of the DC area – and thanks to all of you that worked so diligently to get this event rolling. The knowledge and interactions that I experienced were outstanding. Thank you again to all the presenters, participants, and sponsors!

I too am amazed at what was accomplished! Wasn’t it wonderful to have such well-trained, well-qualified and can-do people on hand, to try this grand experiment? Thank you, everyone!

I want to send out congratulations to all of the organizers, sponsors and participants of #UNTECH10. When the organizers pulled the plug and bailed out of the event – you all decided that the show must go on. It shows you, once again, what a small group of dedicated people – armed with social media tools – can do in a short period of time. Why don’t we do this more often?
Very cool! I hope that day 2 was a success as well!
