On collaboration and learning organizations

Watch this interesting video by Don Tapscott, author of Wikinomics and the new Macrowikinomics – which is on my desk – can’t wait to read it. Ignoring the cheesy Pachelbel soundtrack for a moment, what do you think about what he posits about the opportunity for our organizations to become learning organizations through the creation and development of “the network”?

Albeit with very different language, we talk about similar ideas throughout Open Community.

What do you think?

Wow, never before has Pachebel's Canon in D been put to such bad use.

That aside, I like what Tapscott's is saying (his book is on my desk as well), but I don't sense any "new" there. He's saying what Meg Wheatley, John Seely Brown, Peter Senge, and others before them have long been advocating.

Maybe this video is just meant to be an inspiration trigger for conversation about core principles that have sustained organizations (and civilizations I guess) for a very long time.
