ASAE09 Technology and Learning

On Sunday, I have the privilege of co-presenting a session with Jeff Cobb at the ASAE Annual Conference. We’ll be discussing the power of technology on association education and learning. As I was preparing for my session, I called my friend Jeff Hurt, a veteran of both the learning world and the association world, to hear his thoughts on the topic.

This post is less about what he said (which was deep, interesting, and extremely valuable for me) and more about the process that led to this interaction. See, I’ve come to trust Jeff Hurt’s ideas on all things education-related after first developing a rapport with him online–specifically on Twitter. I know that Jeff is an active listener, that education is his passion, and that I can get great advice, links, resources, and ideas from him.

This is a micro-example of networked, informal learning. And it’s a trend that is vitally important, both from an education standpoint and from a community-building standpoint.

Jeff did share a few of his favorite resources for more networked, informal learning about learning. Here they are for you…
