SocialFish Think Tank

Get Access to the Think Tank

Download a printable version of this information. The Think Tank is an online peer-to-peer learning hub and knowledge library of social media resources for associations and nonprofits. Social media best practices shift so quickly, it’s impossible to stay current without a tight network of fellow social media practitioners who can share what’s working, what isn’t, and their latest approaches to common challenges. And since the challenges faced by association and nonprofits are unique, the network of practitioners needs to be unique. That’s where the SocialFish Think Tank comes in–and that’s why anyone responsible for social media in your association or nonprofit, should be a part of the SocialFish Think Tank.

Who is eligible for access?

Only those who are currently employed by an association, nonprofit, or association management company may join the Think Tank. While we appreciate the contributions of vendors and consultants in the space, this particular resource is specifically designed to be peer-to-peer.

What’s included?

Your $25 monthly fee gives you access to the entire knowledge library, including learning modules designed for quick, online viewing. And the knowledge base is growing constantly through regular additions from SocialFish, as well as peer-to-peer contributions. You’ll also get access to…

  • Step-by-step guides–see how and why to set up Twitter lists, how to find followers, how to approach social media policies and more.
  • On-demand Q&A–can’t find the answer to your question? Get answers from your peers through Think Tank Q&A.
  • Monthly virtual learning sessions–each month, the Think Tank hosts a virtual learning session. These webinars feature topics chosen by Think Tank members. The content is presented by experts, and the format gives participants a chance to interact with one another as well as with the presenter.
  • SocialFish expertise–as the leading social media consultants for associations and nonprofits, Maddie Grant, CAE and Lindy Dreyer work with a wide range of clients who pay top dollar for their expertise. Through the Think Tank, you get access to that same expertise at a much lower price point.

It’s all the social media training you’ll need, all in one place, and always at your fingertips so you can become the trusted expert in your organization.

How the Think Tank will save you time and money

Continued learning is an absolute requirement for anyone involved in social media work at your organization. To fulfill that requirement can require a huge investment. Typical social media conferences can charge between $250-$1,000 in registration fees alone. And a conference usually requires 8 hours or more away from the office. Not only that, but the content of many social media conferences is often hit-or-miss. There’s no guarantee that the investment will pay off in actual answers to the challenges your organization is facing.

The Think Tank is the ideal alternative–for a low monthly fee, you will have access to a huge variety of learning modules that can be viewed in as little as 15 minutes while sitting at your desk. You can ask specific questions and get answers from peers who have addressed the same challenges. And you can guide the development of future content as you anticipate the learning needs you’ll have moving forward.

Who’s in the Think Tank?

Already, a number of association and nonprofit executives are taking part in the Think Tank. You’ll find coordinators and managers focusing on the mechanics of social media. You’ll also find directors, VPs, and executive directors focusing on social media strategy and governance. And you’ll find peers from a number of different association and nonprofit disciplines–education and conferences, membership, marketing, communications, publishing, and more. There are large associations and small associations, trade associations and professional associations, and other nonprofits that focus on membership. There’s plenty of diversity, but also a lot of common ground that is unique to membership organizations. You’ll learn alongside social media practitioners from:

  • Association of Corporate Council
  • American Society of Civil Engineers
  • Florida Society of Association Executives
  • IEEE
  • National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions
  • National Association of Home Builders
  • National Association of REALTORS
  • …and many more.
